Luisa is a born and raised Caymanian who is committed to supporting and helping her community through her work.

Luisa grew up in Cayman but studied and worked abroad for over 10 years in Canada and the UK completing a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Creative Writing and a Masters degree in Creative Writing and Publishing. She returned home during the pandemic to be closer to family and began her career in recruitment. For the past 4+ years Luisa worked at SteppingStones Recruitment where she started as a Trainee Recruiter and worked her way up to Senior Recruiter. In this role she was responsible for managing their busy contract recruitment desk as well as supporting their workplace readiness initiatives and the development of Caymanian professionals across all levels and industries. Earlier this year, Luisa transitioned to an HR consulting role at CaymanHR where she supports her clients with generalist HR duties.

Having a background working in education prior to her career in HR and recruitment, Luisa is most passionate about supporting the growth and development of her community and volunteers with the organisation Literacy is For Everyone (LIFE) and is a Director on the board of Connect by Nova as their Head of Community.

Outside of work, Luisa is most likely volunteering in her community, at the beach either for a beach walk or reading a good book, or playing pickleball with her friends. She also loves to bake and cook and enjoys gathering for a good meal with her family and friends!
