OUR HISTORY

The Cayman Islands Society for HR Professionals (CISHRP) is the largest body of professional HR individuals based in the Cayman Islands. A place small in size but big in ideas and great people.

CISHRP was formed in 2000 by a group of HR professionals in the Cayman Islands. The society currently has 350 members who work in all different levels of HR.

Our vision is to be recognised in the Cayman Islands as the authority on the most critical people management issues of today and tomorrow. Our objectives and goals are the reason we exist.

Objectives

  • Advance the standards and recognition of the HR field within the Cayman Islands
  • Establish a network for collaboration, sharing ideas and problem-solving
  • Foster better relations between the practitioners and the norms and peculiarities of Cayman’s employment market
  • Develop/acquire and deliver courses or programmes of study for the certification and professional development of members
  • Act as an interest group in conducting proactive research and making representations on legislation and regulations pertaining to HR management
  • Responsibly fulfill roles in ensuring compliance within organizations

Goals

  • Provide options for professional development which elevate member’s professional expertise by building member’s Human Resources Competencies
  • Build the credibility of Human resources as a Profession in the Cayman Islands through public awareness
  • Maintain the SHRM Forum affiliation and offer SHRM members accredited professional development

Meet Our Directors

Directors of the Society are all voted in by our members. Elections are held at our Annual General Meeting in September each year. The CISHRP Board is comprised of the CISHRP President, Vice-President, Treasurer and five Directors, who work together to provide leadership to the Society. Once elected a Director holds the post for two years.
