About the CAHRE Awards

Can your HR Team demonstrate a direct contribution to your organization, leadership and client experience?

The key role of human resources is to add value to their organizations through effective management of people processes.

CISHRP created its annual Awards for Human Resources Management Excellence to provide a forum for the Cayman Islands organizations of any size, private or public sector, to promote best HR practices and directly demonstrate how effective HR can contribute to the success of their organizations.

It is also a chance to highlight the remarkable work HR professionals on the island are doing to improve the quality of work and working lives, and reflect the fact that organizations where people come first to deliver better returns for shareholders, stakeholders, and society.

The Awards involve formal assessment by independent experts across five priority areas: learning and development; talent management; benefits and rewards; HR operational excellence and responsible business.

Awards Categories

Award categories for which organizations may apply
Best Training ProgrammeThis category covers training programmes for any staff member. Submissions may cover technical training and know-how, soft skills, mentoring or career progression for all staff members, regardless of level. The judges will examine training outcomes and will evaluate how organisations have delivered outstanding benefits by linking training needs to business needs, particularly with regard to enabling succession planning and offering career opportunities for Caymanian staff.
Excellence in Talent Management and Retention

This award will showcase the organisation that has

developed a distinctive employer brand, can demonstrate high levels of employee engagement, and an office environment that is conducive to high levels of productivity

whose leader/head has articulated and communicated the organisation’s purpose and priorities in a way that clarifies the expected contribution from everyone

Best Wellness Programme

For the organisation that has shown real concern for the welfare of its people through providing and promoting a healthy working environment, and supporting those with lifestyle or clinical challenges, while avoiding being seen as a ‘nanny state’. Entries for best corporate wellness programme should be submitted under this category. Additional criteria include:

Setting and monitoring suitable key performance indicators

HR Young Talent of the YearThe judges will be looking for a human resources junior (under 5 years of HR experience) who has displayed clear leadership, innovation and shown superior decision-making skills. The winner will have won buy-in at a senior level of the organisation and have been a champion of the people agenda within the organisation.
Best Community and Corporate Responsibility Initiative

Research is increasingly showing that organisations with close ties to communities and stakeholders enjoy higher levels of staff and client engagement than those who focus solely on commercial gain. This award will showcase the organization that made an impact on the Cayman Islands through charity initiatives, employee volunteering, social responsibility initiatives etc. This award focuses on community impact, whether environmental or social; entries can range from charity initiatives, employee volunteering, green initiatives to schemes that raise aspiration and attainment of young people in the Cayman Islands through building partnerships with local schools and organizations. Evidence of senior-level commitment to corporate responsibility projects is welcomed. Entries should demonstrate an organization’s actual achievements in respect of their CR activities, whether as part of a one-off campaign or an ongoing strategy. Additional criteria include:

Evidence of success (level of volunteering, social entrepreneurs supported, community awards won, etc)

Excellence in DiversityThe Excellence in Diversity Award will illustrate some of Cayman’s most inclusive organizations. Created to recognize those that lead in equality, diversity, and fairness, in all aspects of business and particularly those who can demonstrate a commitment to policies and practices related to family support, women’s career progression and flexible working.
