CISHRP Annual Conference

As the largest gathering of HR Professionals in the Cayman Islands, the CISHRP Annual Conference delivered yet another unforgettable experience where attendees had the opportunity to learn, grow and network with their peers. Attendees had the opportunity to listen to renowned international speakers and local speakers, where they learned from each other during educational sessions, networking breaks and closing reception.
The 2023 conference was designed to benefit HR Professionals from all businesses and all industries across the Cayman Islands. This 2023 theme was “H.U.M.A.N.”, where the topics covered how HR professionals are heroes, united, mindful, authentic, and nurturing.

Speaker - Jennifer McClure
With decades of leadership and executive experience working in various industries, Jennifer has a deep understanding of the challenges facing organizations as they navigate the rapidly evolving world of work, and her passion for developing leaders has earned her recognition as a leading voice on topics such as the future of work, high-impact leadership, and innovative people strategies.
In addition to being the CEO of Unbridled Talent, Jennifer is also the Chief Excitement Officer of DisruptHR, a global community designed to move the collective thinking forward when it comes to talent in the workplace, and she hosts a weekly podcast – Impact Makers with Jennifer McClure – sharing conversations with practitioners, business leaders, authors and speakers who are changing the world while building careers that they love, and lives that matter.
When she’s not immersed in the latest research or case studies related to workplace trends, Jennifer can be found on horseback, riding on trails or jumping over obstacles along with one of her two equine best friends – Roxxy and Nahla – who have taught her the most in life about trust, leadership, and partnership.

Speaker - Helen Carriere
Helen has 15 years’ experience in HR management consulting. Her Compensation experience includes Job Descriptions, Job Evaluation, Salary Surveys and Market Reviews, Salary Analysis, Pay Structures, Total Rewards, Salary Administration, Pay Equity and Compensation Strategy. Helen has worked extensively in the Caribbean, with multiple clients in the Cayman Islands, the Turks & Caicos Islands and elsewhere.

Speaker - Steven Manning
Steven was hired from a competitor in 2015 to head up the Fiduciary Services team before being promoted to CEO of WPS in 2021. Prior to joining Walkers he was director of a number of asset finance and structured finance special purpose vehicles, as well as various bespoke structured transactions. Steven is a chartered accountant and chartered tax advisor who qualified with KPMG in Ireland, where he specialised in international tax in the banking, insurance, aircraft leasing and renewable energy industries.
Speaker - Olwyn Downey
Olwyn joined the Irish business of Walkers in January 2022 and in July moved across to join Walkers Professional Services in a global HRD role based in Dublin. The move has provided a great opportunity to find ways in which HR can add tangible value to a fast growing and dynamic global business.
Speaker - Adam Barker
Before joining CIG, Adam was employed as a senior workforce adviser for the Local Government Association in England and Wales. This role at a national level in the UK was primarily to identify emerging HR issues and develop HR solutions for implementation across the sector which directly employed c.1.5m employees.
His previous employment was as the Head of Consultancy at the Local Government Employers, where he managed a team of associate consultants delivering HR consultancy projects to a range of public sector employers. A large number of these projects involved organisation design and comprehensive pay and grading reviews.
Prior to this employment he was employed by the local Government management Board (LGMB) where he led on behalf of the employer’s secretary, the national pay negotiations for local authority chief executives and chief officers in England and Wales, pay bill c.£40m p.a.
Adam has extensive experience in pay reviews and reward management. He has delivered fair and lasting solutions in challenging political contexts, e.g. Northern Ireland Councils, The Republic of Kosovo. He also has significant experience dealing with national negotiations and complex employee relations issues, specifically involving senior managers.
Prior to joining the LGMB Adam worked for the London Borough of Kingston and the London Borough of Richmond.
Speaker - Tim Sackett
Tim is the author of the best-selling SHRM published book, “The Talent Fix: A Leader’s Guide to Recruiting Great Talent”. He also writes every day at his blog the Tim Sackett Project. He also does a weekly podcast called HR Famous. Tim is married to a hall of fame wife, has three sons, and his dogs Scout and Tucker. In 2023, he was named a Top Global HR & Recruitment Influencer by HR Executive. He has more Twitter followers than his 3 GenZ sons and is sponsored on stage by diet Mt. Dew
Speaker - Dallas Dralle
After graduating magna cum laude from the Honors College at Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Dallas went on to obtain a Master of Science degree in Child Development and Family Studies with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Purdue University Calumet.
Dallas is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), trained in EMDR, and a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator. Dallas completed Level I and Level II of Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy which she regularly incorporates into her therapeutic approach. She also has training in Cognitive-Behavioral therapies, Motivational Interviewing, and Mental Health First Aid.
Outside of her clinical work, Dallas has been an active member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Grand Cayman (BPW) since September 2015. She is also an active member of Young BPW and co-chair of the Health and Wellness committee for BPW. She is passionate about empowering women in their careers through networking, fundraising, providing workshops, and in giving back to her community through service.
Speaker - Emma Graham-Taylor
Emma’s core strengths are solving problems and supporting teams and individuals in achieving their goals. She is a connector and very good at putting the right people in touch with one another to further objectives and create opportunities. She is an outspoken advocate for equity and fairness, and she believes in transparency and not just doing things right but doing the right things. She is a trained mental health first aider, and vocal about women’s health issues (in particular menopause). Cayman has been Emma’s home for the last 50 years.

Jennifer is a strategic professional, passionate about improving her clients’ marketing and recruitment operations through engaging and impactful content. She has a refined skill set that includes consumer behaviour and analysis, digital marketing, brand awareness, and graphic design.
Throughout her career, Jennifer has been instrumental in shaping, influencing, and driving the talent market in offshore jurisdictions. She has a proven track record of producing high-quality content that meets clients’ objectives and delivers measurable business results.
Speaker - Jen Skinner
Jen is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) by the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), and a Certified Return on Investment Professional (CRP). She has trusted credentials in people matters, including strategic human resources, transforming the Talent Experience and organizational structure and culture, change management, talent acquisition and onboarding, succession planning and professional development, learning design and delivery, diversity and inclusion, performance management including coaching and strengths, organizational design, compensation and benefits and HR-related systems.
Jen is a member of the Cayman Islands Society of Human Resources Professionals (CISHRP) and 100 Women in Finance. She is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as well as the past SHRM Forum Leader for the Cayman Islands. In 2019, she was appointed as a member of the Cayman Islands Civil Service Appeals Commission.
Outside of work, Jen enjoys swimming, golfing, spending time with her family, and staying connected with her twin sister who lives in Canada.
Speaker - Cindy Blekatis
Originally from Canada, Cindy has been part of the Cayman community since 2002 when she began work with the Women’s Resource Centre.
With over 20 years’ experience in the helping profession, her work as a counsellor for family violence, trauma, and mental health, led her to take a break to focus on change management and corporate wellness. She believes that the true value of a company is determined by the health and wellbeing of employees.
Cindy is a Master-Level Certified Life Coach and Certified Mediator. Her passion is to empower people to live happier healthier lives and to promote change with her innovative ideas and positive personality. As a single mother of two young children, her spare time revolves around her family and making an effort toward work-life balance.
Special Guest Speaker
Special Guest Speaker - Franz Manderson
Throughout his career, Mr. Manderson has been recognized for his exceptional service and contributions to the Cayman Islands. He has received numerous awards, including the Certificate and Badge of Honor for his management of Cuban migrants, the Governor’s FACE award for excellence in customer service, and the Person of the Year award in 2006 by Cayman Net News.
In addition to his work in the civil service, Mr. Manderson is also an attorney-at-law. He completed his legal studies at the University of Liverpool, and was called to the Cayman Islands Bar in July 2004. He was also appointed a Justice of the Peace in 2008.
In 2009, Mr. Manderson was promoted to the post of Chief Officer in the Portfolio of Internal and External Affairs. He continued to excel in his role and in 2012, he was appointed Deputy Governor and Head of the Civil Service by the Governor in consultation with the United Kingdom Secretary of State.
As Deputy Governor, Mr. Manderson is responsible for the management and performance of the Civil Service, which employs approximately 4,300 staff. He is also a member of Cabinet and the Cayman Islands Parliament.
Mr. Manderson’s exceptional leadership and dedication to public service have not gone unnoticed. In 2018, he was awarded an MBE by Her Majesty the Queen for his outstanding contributions to the Cayman Islands community.
